With the Moyo’s Mission hotel rally, you’ll explore Hotel Matamba in search of Moyo’s powers – while discovering lots of fascinating things about the hotel and Africa along the way.
Duration: 25-35 minutes
Recommended age: Primary school children; younger children accompanied by an adult. The rally is text-based, so participants need to be able to read.
How to play: Using the Actionbound app on a smartphone
To play the hotel rally, you need the free Actionbound app on your smartphone. No registration is required.
Simply use the app to scan the QR code for the rally (shown on the flyers/posters), and you’re ready to go.
A smartphone (iPhone or Android) with internet access and the free Actionbound app. The rally can be downloaded in advance in Actionbound, so no internet connection is required while taking part.
No. This is an exclusively digital activity and the rally can only be played using the Actionbound app.
Yes. All routes and stations can be accessed without barriers.
The rally is available in German, Dutch, French and English. The Actionbound app automatically selects the language set on the smartphone.
No. Both the app and the rally are free of charge.
The rally is suitable for children of primary school age and above. Younger children will enjoy it most when accompanied by their parents or older children who can read well. The rally is text-based.
Moyo’s Mission takes approximately 25–35 minutes. The exact duration depends on how much fun the children are having – there’s also plenty of time to climb and play along the way.
Can several people play the rally using one smartphone?
Simply scan the QR code in the Actionbound app using the “SCAN CODE” function. Alternatively, click the “Go to Moyo’s Mission” button on the rally website – and you’re ready to go!
Yes. The app saves your progress, so you can pause the rally and continue playing later.
Along the way, the children will discover fascinating and fun facts about the diverse African cultures that have inspired the design of the hotel – for example, the origins of the wooden figures and masks or the traditional architecture of the Dogon people of Mali.
No. Moyo’s Mission takes place entirely at Hotel Matamba. The children explore the building (ground floor) and the garden.
The correct answer is revealed immediately when the “Answer” button is pressed for each question.
Yes. Once the rally has been completed, simply scan the QR code again in the Actionbound app to play it again – including on your next visit, of course.
No. A made-up explorer name can be used instead.
No – unless you move the slider under “Publish results and content on actionbound.com” from “No” to “Yes” at the end.
